CHS Lake Service Policy

At CHS Lake Service, the safety and well-being of our guests are our highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable boating experience. Before embarking on your boat charter, please take a moment to review our safety policies.

1. Passenger Capacity & Restrictions

  • Each boat has a specified maximum passenger capacity based on size and type. For your safety, please adhere strictly to these limits.

  • Children must be supervised by an adult at all times, and appropriate child-sized life jackets will be provided.

2. Life Jackets & Safety Gear

  • All children under the age of 13 must wear a life jacket at all times while on the boat, in accordance with state and federal regulations.

  • In the case of an emergency, we will also provide emergency flotation devices and other safety equipment.

3. Skipper & Crew Qualifications

  • All charters are operated by licensed and trained captains who are experienced in safe boating practices.

  • Passengers are not permitted to operate the boat unless explicitly authorized and trained by the captain.

4. Alcohol and Drug Use

  • Alcohol may be consumed responsibly during your charter; however, we have a strict policy on no glass bottles. Additionally, vodka is not allowed on board.

  • The boat’s captain reserves the right to restrict or stop alcohol consumption if it is deemed unsafe or disruptive.

  • Consumption of drugs (legal or illegal) is strictly prohibited during the charter. Any guests found in violation will be asked to disembark immediately, and further legal action may be taken.

5. Pre-Departure Briefing

  • Before setting out, all guests will receive a safety briefing. This includes instructions on how to use life jackets, safety equipment, and emergency procedures.

  • Passengers should listen attentively and ask any questions if they are unsure about any procedures.

6. Weather Conditions

  • Your safety is our top priority, so boat charters may be delayed, shortened, or rescheduled due to unsafe weather conditions (e.g., thunderstorms, high winds, fog).

  • If weather conditions become unsafe during the charter, the captain will return to shore immediately and ensure all passengers are safe.

7. Navigation & No Wake Zones

  • The captain is responsible for operating the boat according to all local navigation rules, including speed limits and no-wake zones.

  • Passengers must respect the captain's instructions and avoid causing distractions or interfering with navigation.

8. Emergency Procedures

  • All charters are equipped with essential safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, life-saving flotation devices, and communication tools.

  • In the event of an emergency, follow the captain’s instructions. Guests should remain calm and stay in their seats unless directed otherwise.

9. Respect for the Environment

  • Passengers are expected to help maintain the cleanliness of the boat by properly disposing of trash and avoiding damage to the boat or surrounding environment.

  • Marine wildlife should be observed from a safe distance, and no interaction or feeding is allowed.

10. No Water Sports Without Prior Authorization

  • Water sports (e.g., tubing, wakeboarding, etc.) are only allowed when the appropriate equipment is available and after ensuring all safety precautions are met.

  • Only certified instructors and safety personnel are allowed to conduct these activities. Passengers should never attempt to participate without proper supervision.

11. Communication and Contact Information

  • Our team will maintain open communication throughout your charter. If you need assistance or have concerns during the trip, please do not hesitate to inform the captain.

  • Emergency contact information will be provided at the start of the trip.

12. Time & Return Policy

  • Please be mindful of the charter's scheduled duration and ensure timely return. Delays may incur additional fees or rescheduling fees.

  • If there are any changes to the planned route, the captain will inform you in advance.

13. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • If the charter is canceled due to weather or safety concerns, we will provide a full refund or the option to reschedule the charter for another day.

  • For cancellations made by the customer, please refer to our cancellation policy for more details.
